INTRODUCTION
Marin Mineral Society is a non-profit educational organization that was formed in 1953 for the promotion of and education in geology, lapidary, and allied arts. We welcome all those who have an interest in rock and mineral collecting, lapidary, carving, jewelry making, and other aspects of this fascinating hobby. As part of our activities we hold educational programs at general meetings, occasional field trips to collect rocks and minerals, and monthly seminars for instruction in earth science and lapidary arts.

Visitors and guests are welcome at all club meetings and events. General meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month except August, November, and December. In August, the club holds its Annual Picnic, and a Holiday Party / New Officer Installation is held in December. Seminars are held on the third Tuesday of each month except August, November, and December. General meetings and seminars are held at the Novato Community of Christ Church, 375 Calle Arboleda, Novato, CA. General meetings start at 7:30 p.m. and the seminars run from 7 to 9 p.m. Board meetings are at 6:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month, except August, November, and December, at the food court (near Subway) in Northgate Mall, Terra Linda Drive, San Rafael, CA.

Annual dues are $20 for an adult and $28 for two or more at the same mailing address. New members are assessed a one-time initiation fee of $5.

Information about meeting and seminar topics, and any change in meeting dates, will be posted on this blog. You may also request further information about our club by leaving a message here.
